About Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival
Established in 2002, the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF) is an Academy-Award® accredited Black Film Festival where independent and established African American filmmakers can showcase, screen and promote emerging feature, documentary, and short films from across the world. The brainchild of husband and wife team, Floyd and Stephanie Rance, the MVAAFF provides a nurturing environment for African American filmmakers to test their creativity, while providing sponsors a captive audience to promote their brands among a highly discerning community of people of color.

I watched all 4 episodes of Stax...& it simply blew me away. WOW! I learned SO much, because it wasn’t just about Stax...there was so much more pertinent & valuable information woven into it, that Jamila Wignot (the director) turned it into an epic history course! I can't recommend this enough...

Now before y'all jump the tide and come for me, don't get me wrong I absolutely loved some parts of the movie I don't see rainbows and unicorns everywhere I go, I grew up in a strong 2 parent man and woman household my stepfather absolutely adored my mother may she continue to rest, that's what I loved most and wish we had more of , less hetero toxicity and more love period I love to see a man adoring and loving and taking care of his woman I'm not bias at all but other than that the rest is just a whole toxic mess and that's where the love and repersentation I have and wish I had was on my screen.

She has some nerve sitting up there In a 3 piece suit talking about friendship this was your chance to represent your LGBT community, Aunjanue this was your chance to finally play a LGBT role after you done came out 2yrs ago COME NOW BLACK WOMEN WAKE UP REPRESENT MORE THAN A TOXIC HETERO RELATIONSHIP
I really hope Ms Sanaa and Ms Aunjanue do another movie together because this one didn't do them justice they seemed very distant
